The food is very good comfort food with an elegant flair. From the Valet to the greeting by the Host and Hostess to Toni our server the service was outstanding. We had a late breakfast that day and this was a n early dinner for us so we had did not have a big meal. We wanted to for sure have the Gorgonzola Chips. We each had a sandwich, my wife had the Portable sandwich and I had the Steak BLT and split a salad. Each sandwich came with chips...we added the Gorgonzola topping.

1/22/2011 I've been here a few times before and was never really compelled to write a review. The service has always been nice and the food has always been satisfying. Boyfriend and I are celebrating our 4-year anniversary and my parents generously gave us a Buckhead Life gift card. I am slightly intimidated by most Buckhead Life restaurants and since we've been to the Diner before, it's where we decided to go. I reserved our table on Open Table, which the Diner is sure to mention is not actually a reservation, but a "Priority Seating Request". Either way, I'm glad I did it. When we pulled up, the lot was full and the valet said, "You called ahead right?". It was nice to be able to say "Yeah", but I wondered if we'd have come in a car other than our Chevy Cobalt, would we have been asked the same thing? When we stepped inside, an older gentleman was arguing with the hostess about, I presume, his wait being too long. We were glad to be able to say we'd semi-reserved our table online, and we were rewarded with a 40-minute wait time, as opposed to the hour-and-a-half being quoted to walk-ins. We grabbed drinks from the bar and waited and people-watched. The wait wasn't terrible, but there is no good place to stand so I felt like we were constantly in the way. When we got seated, we were relieved and ready to relax. Our waitress, Georgia, was cute and friendly. She told us Maureen (we don't know who that is, but hell yeah!) was sending us a calamari appetizer. We were surprised and thankful--especially since we weren't sure why exactly it was being sent. The only thing I can think of, is when I reserve a table on Open Table, I always compliment the staff in the "Maitre'D Requests" box. So far, it has paid off every time--I recommend you do it, even if you feel like a suck-up. No wait person or hostess is mad to hear, "You do a good job", I promise. We also ordered the blue cheese chips, the Chicken Parmesan, and the Mahi Mahi Tostada. Every single bite was delicious and satisfying. My chicken parm certainly wasn't a new take on an old classic, but was more of the classic dish done exceedingly well. The chicken was crispy and juicy, and the sauce and cheese were rich, tangy, and tasty. The tostada had a great fiery flavor and the fish was perfectly done. In the course of the evening, we had mentioned it was our anniversary. I promise I wasn't trying to get anything for free, buuut....they did bring us a free dessert, woo! They even wrote, "Happy 4th Anniversary" on the plate in delicious melted chocolate (no Hershey's syrup here!). I am more of a chocolate dessert person, but the Peach Bread Pudding they brought was insaaaaane. No lie. I have previously been known to make the "Braaagghhh" barfing sound at the mere mention of bread pudding, so trust me it was good stuff. And beggars can't be choosers, so I will eat my free dessert and I will like it!
