took my date here for Valentine's day and have been meaning to write a review ever since. This place is great. Expensive? You'd better believe it. But considering the occasion I thought it'd be OK to splurge for a night. OK, so for Valentine's Day they had a fixed price menu with... I can't remember how many courses but it was a respectable number. It also included champagne (not really, it was some other sparkling wine) and dessert. So this was pretty much an epic win for Valentine's day. I told my date that I hadn't been able to get a reservation anywhere and that we were going to Checker's. She was not amused, however, when I showed up in some snazziness her expression immediately changed. The ambiance: for Valentine's Day they had a harpist performing the whole time we were there. Ah, romantic surroundings... The view was just awesome. The waiter was friendly and helpful. Everything was great. The food was amazing and only overshadowed by how happy my date was to be there. When the bill came I almost gouged my eyes out but I at least I knew what to expect. Tip was die massif but well deserved. I highly recommend this place, especially for special ocassions when they have a prix fixe men
