Description:
Pittypat's Porch, downtown Atlanta's oldest restaurant, has delighted guests for over 40 years with it's "old southern charm and new southern flavors"! The one-of-a-kind atmosphere, southern hospitality, and home-made southern cuisine makes Pittypat's an excellent dining choice.
Type of Meals Served:
The story is told that when Scarlett visited Atlanta she always stayed with Aunt Pittypat. During those visits, Aunty Pitty would prepare only her best recipes. At Pittypat's Porch, the tradition continues... Begin with a cool beverage; then sample our unique appetizers. Our Pittypat's sideboard comes next, followed by our traditional southern entrees, created in new southern style, served with lots of homemade breads and vegetables. And don't forget to leave room for our great Southern specialty desserts.

5/9/2011 A great option in the metro area for large family gatherings (and probably groups of any kind). They have private group rooms, EXCELLENT (and dedicated to your group) service, the food all came out around the same time and the special requests AND the separate checks were correct. This was not the usual fiasco we experience with our group of 20. The ambiance was great, super fun for the kids and very family friendly. The children's menu offered well rounded choices AND they made the healthy substitutions for the kiddos with no upcharge. The decor was charming and interesting and the aroma of fresh-baked biscuits and muffins was enticing. Watching the muffins and cakes being made was fascinating to the kiddos and the Gone with the Wind memorabilia intriugued the adults. The salad bar was excellent (and very different from what some earlier reviews might lead me to believe). There were only 2 mayonnaise based salads and plenty of healthy and creative options. The salad bar, bread basket and family style beans (delicious) and greens (a tad sweet, but so yummy) would easily make a well rounded and hearty meal for those who are not big meat eaters. The meats we tried were on par with what you'd get anywhere in town. The mac and cheese was amazing! A few things were a little on the sweet side for me, but I'm a health food fanatic and a northerner. And they validate your parking in the garage next door for $5 (up to 2 hours). This is not just a restaurant, it's an experience... (and a part of Atlanta history) and one worth enjoying, especially for a large group celebration!!!!
