Description:
Mellow Mushroom Pizza doesn't get tastier nor do ingredients get fresher than at Mellow Mushroom. I've been here several times and recommend starting off with either the pretzels, if you're really hungry, or the hummus, which is delicious! The beer list is decent and I am a big fan of the Shroom Tea (their take on an Arnold Palmer).
Okay, onto the pizza. Whether you choose one of their signatures or build your own, you cannot go wrong. I've done both and have never been disappointed. Most recently, I tried the Philosopher's Pie....Olive Oil and Garlic base with Steak, Portobello Mushrooms, Artichoke Hearts, Kalamata Olives, Provolone, Feta and Mozzarella cheese. I'm not a fan of olives, so we got this on half for my olive loving hubby. He was a bit skeptical of the olive oil and garlic base in lieu of sauce, but it was delicious. By far, one of the best (if not the best) pizza I have ever eaten! Great Patio rain or shine!!

They have some damn good pizza! I went with a friend on a Friday night, around 10PM, and the restaurant was packed. We sat outside since the weather was amazing. The host gave us a table behind a huge group of drunks, which was actually quite amusing, there was one guy who screamed at anyone riding a bike, and the usual drunk singing...So that was pretty fun to watch...Anyways! We were immediately greeted by charming server and took our drink orders. A couple minutes later we had some questions about a couple of items on the menu and they were gladly answered. My friend ordered garlic bread with cheese, and I ordered some plain garlic bread. I was actually quite disappointed with the plain garlic bread; its like a sub covered in oil and garlic, but the taste isn't all that great, Ive had better garlic bread; my friends garlic bread with the cheese was a lot better. I ordered a 10 inch cheese pizza with tomatoes, green peppers, and ground beef...My friend being the plain person he is, opted for a plain cheese pizza. Wait time wasn't too long. The pizza was actually really good! I enjoyed it a lot. The crust like many other yelpers have discussed, is really good. The only thing I didn't enjoy about the pizza was the tomatoes, I guess I only ordered tomatoes to experiment with my taste buds, It turns out i don't like tomatoes on pizza. Other than that it was really good. Pizza wasn't too greasy either which is a plus. My friend enjoyed his cheese pizza as well, with nothing to complain about. The prices are not that bad either..my total was $13.50 I expected it to be a little higher. Pros: Obviously the pizza, but the crust of the pizza definitely, Prices, The ambiance, Entertaining drunks. Cons: Garlic bread, The lack of lighting outside, Its a little cramped too. Will definitely return to this restaurant.
